Someone said recently „Only three years? I feel like you’ve always been there...”. It’s certainly encouraging, and I feel like we’ve had the first editorial meeting quite recently. Time began to fly somehow faster in my head. For me it is „already” three years. We bravely passed through the trial period and with our heads up we enter the adolescent period! We managed to win our place on the press market, and, most importantly, in your hearts and heads. Writing this text I see 60 000 Facebook fans of K-MAG, the average of 1000 guests at our parties all over Poland (Poznań, Łódź, Sopot, Kraków, Wrocław... you are great!), the growing number of subscribers and iPad application downloads. Our talent search engine at www.kmag.pl revealed a dozen of great new photographers, designers and graphic artists. One of the K-MAG covers went to the chart of the top 100 magazine covers in the world, according to the French edition of „Le Book”. The greatest fashion fairn in Europe, Bread & Butter, invited us for media cooperation for the fifth time, as the only magazine in this part of Europe. We feel needed! We feel like celebrating and like to share the celebration with you! Hence the idea for some Moulin Rouge style fun. A Paris revue, the legendary theatre or the colorful film by Baz Luhrmann are a great inspiration for an incredible night. As the hosts of the birthday festivities we want to keep you for the whole night and to welcome the next day together. We present the theatre of pleasure, the hottest revues and the art of burlesque. We also mention the most famous birthday parties and we reveal the secrets of the French love. We visit the most expensive and most expensive salons full of sexy lingerie. We have breakfast at Tiffany’s and dinner at Rene Lalique’s, the world of jewelry on our table. We look at the actors behind the main roles in „Moulin Rouge” – the phenomenon of Ewan McGregor and his best roles and the Australian beauty Nicole Kidman in the photo shoot by Krzysztof Kozanowski. Nicole is played by one of the most interesting Polish models Wiola Kowal. We celebrate our jubilee together with great figures of the Polish pop-culture and fashion. Those well known and admired and those we’ve had the pleasure to discover. Their reflections on K-MAG after the three years, often with a pinch of salt, are decorated with beautiful portraits by Grzegorz Adamski and Stanisław Boniecki. The cover shines with three hottest „new faces” of the Polish modeling. Three very different kinds of beauty, three different personalities, each one symbolizing a year of the K-MAG’s life... The birthday photo shoot by Krzysztof Opaliński introduces us to the atmosphere of the issue and at the same time foretells great worldwide careers of our beauties.
In the jubilee issue we also begin a new journalist cycle with great figures of the Polish fashion. Our „spy” spends a day with a celebrity and writes about the impressions... The first one is – the icon, Joanna Klimas. And right next to her – the winner of the K MAG award at the Lodz fashion week – Maldoror, interviewed by Janusz Noniewicz. And finally Monika Olejnik talking with us, for the first time, not about politics..
The carnival time is coming – fun, madness, banquets and parties of all kinds. In this spirit I give the largest issue of K MAG (232 pages!) so far. On behalf of the whole editorial board I thank all of you for being with us!
